Prospects after graduation

Companies are subject to constant dynamism and complexity. On the one hand, these result from technological progress, economic growth, social change and ecological changes. On the other hand, they are the result of economic players increasingly seeking advantages in technical specialisation and the associated intra-company, inter-company and international division of labour. In order to cope with this dynamism and complexity, companies in all sectors need well-trained specialists on a permanent basis who have an integrating effect by simultaneously taking into account the technical and business requirements when developing, utilising and adapting value creation structures.

The wide-ranging field of industrial engineering opens up a wide variety of career prospects. With a degree in industrial engineering, it is possible to work in all operational functional areas: production, procurement, marketing and sales, research and development, but also logistics, controlling, quality, project and innovation management; and this in all sectors and at all career levels, from highly qualified clerical work to company management. Compared to other professions in the STEM sector, salaries are high.

Possible Master's degree programmes

After graduating with a Bachelor's degree, students can deepen their knowledge in Master's programmes. These include Master's programmes in the fields of industrial engineering, business administration and related subjects as well as technology. The Faculty of Electrical and Industrial Engineering offers the Master's degree programmes in Industrial Engineering and Sustainability and Transformation, for which the Bachelor's degree directly qualifies students. We also offer the Master's degree programmes Applied Research in Engineering Sciences and Wiring Systems Development.
