Representatives of the University of South Carolina Upstate visit Landshut University of Applied Sciences

Strengthening future collaboration between the two partner universities

Dr. Brendan Kelly, President of the University of South Carolina (USC) Upstate, and Provost Dr. Clifton Flynn visited Landshut University of Applied Sciences to deepen the collaboration between the two institutions which has been in place for a number of years.

Building on current student exchanges and double degrees at Bachelor's level as well as guest lectureships which have intensified over the years, the aim is now to widen this cooperation to Master's level. The focus is on International Business Administration in particular. For all other areas, there will be a special focus on short courses and excursions by students of both universities accompanied by professors. For example, a group of students on the degree programme in Social Work in Child and Youth Care at Landshut visited USC Upstate and some facilities in Spartanburg in September with Prof. Mechtild Wolff. Furthermore, university management regards the further intensification of contact between the two cities as an important foundation and strategic aim for the future.

During their stay in Germany, the guests from the partner university had the opportunity to attend Landshut University of Applied Sciences' graduation ceremony, as well as the graduation ball afterwards.

"Five years ago, I myself attended graduation celebrations at the University of South Carolina Upstate and so I am now delighted to welcome guests from Spartanburg to our graduation ceremony," said Prof. Stoffel, President of Landshut University of Applied Sciences.
