Student exercise on digital production planning with the Fraunhofer IGCV

Exciting insights into the latest digital factory planning technologies

Focus on digital production planning: insight into the latest technologies at Fraunhofer IGCV

At the invitation of Prof. Dr. Philipp Michaeli, Mr. Böck and Ms. Akkaya, researchers at Fraunhofer IGCV, gave the students an exciting introduction to the latest technologies in digital factory planning. The event offered a practice-oriented insight into innovative solutions that could revolutionize industrial production.

As part of the workshop, the students were given the opportunity to get to know the digital 3D planning software visTABLE from Plavis. This software can be used to visualize and optimize production processes in virtual 3D spaces, enabling companies to make their production processes more efficient and error-free.

Another highlight was the presentation of the VLX 3D laser scanner from NavVis. This portable scanner makes it possible to quickly and precisely convert even complex production environments into digital models. This allows potential bottlenecks and optimization potential to be identified as early as the planning phase.

The presentation of the Elios 3 drone-based laser scanner from Flyability was particularly exciting. This scanner is used in inaccessible and dangerous environments to collect data for digital factory planning. The students were able to experience the technology live and gain their first experience of using it.
