Study&Work partner meeting at the Dingolfing campus

For the second time, those responsible at the university met with representatives from business and politics to discuss Study&Work and draw a first conclusion after two semesters.

Since the international Bachelor's degree course in Sustainable Industrial Operations and Business (SOIB) started last winter semester at the Isar Campus in Dingolfing, students have been able to become part of the unique Study&Work programme. Study&Work combines theory with real-life practice: students work at partner companies and can directly apply and deepen the content of the curriculum while financing their studies at the same time.

Study&Work can be realised thanks to eleven cooperating companies from the Dingolfing region. As at the first edition in February, the participants of the second Study&Work partner meeting exchanged and discussed their experiences from the previous semester. University President Prof Dr Fritz Pörnbacher and Chancellor Dr Johann Rist were joined by Mayor Armin Grassinger and District Administrator Werner Bumeder for the exchange.

The start of the second SIOB cohort was also prepared in constructive discussions. In view of the current number of applicants, it is to be expected that the number of students wishing to take advantage of the Study&Work programme will increase considerably from the winter semester onwards. In order to continue to meet the requirements and to be able to further expand the Study&Work programme, future students are to be given even better support when entering the world of work. Application training at the beginning of the degree programme and an increased focus on individual goals and skills are central to this.

After a good two semesters, the Study&Work partners have a positive view of the programme and are looking forward to even more committed students in the winter semester.
