University Professor Becomes VDE Representative for Lower Bavaria

Prof. Dr. Reinhold Kohler has been elected as the spokesperson for the VDE Regional Representation of Lower Bavaria.

In August 2023, the Association for Electrical, Electronic, and Information Technologies (VDE) Bavaria e.V. rebranded the VDE Regional Representations following the administrative regions in Bavaria. As a result, there is now the VDE Upper Bavaria (Munich/Rosenheim), VDE Swabia (Augsburg), VDE Middle Franconia (Ansbach), VDE Upper Franconia (Bayreuth), VDE Lower Franconia (Würzburg), VDE Upper Palatinate (Regensburg), and VDE Lower Bavaria (Landshut).

Professor Dr. Reinhold Kohler, a professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Business Engineering at Landshut University, was elected as the VDE Lower Bavaria spokesperson. He has been an active member of the VDE for over 25 years since completing his studies.

According to their own statements, the VDE Bavaria e.V. Regional Representations are organically independent external organizations, responsible for fostering technical, scientific, and sociopolitical discussions among members and the public. They also aim to promote professional collaboration necessary for solving scientific issues and enhance the further education of members. Furthermore, they serve as the interface of VDE Bavaria e.V. with the administrative regions of the Free State of Bavaria and act as contacts for regional technical and scientific associations, universities, and colleges, as well as representatives from local politics, local media, and the public.

We congratulate our Professor Dr. Reinhold Kohler on his election and wish him much joy and success in his new role.
