Privacy policy Outlook Web App
The web server xmail.mwn.de and the Outlook Web App (OWA) service offered on it are operated by the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (LRZ), Boltzmannstraße 1, 85748 Garching b. München. The personal data processed in this context can be found in the LRZ's privacy policy at https://www.lrz.de/datenschutzerklaerung.
Below we inform you about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data. This information can be accessed at any time on our website.
Use of the OWA service
When you log into the OWA service on the xmail.mwn.de web server, the following information is temporarily stored in a log file:
- Your HAW identifier
- Date and time the connection was established and terminated
- Name of the specific server via which the connection was established
(Explanation: The OWA service is provided on a cluster of servers for load reasons) - Information on whether the login attempt was successful or not
If you log in from an IP address that does not belong to HAW Landshut, the connections run through a firewall on which the following data is also recorded in a log file:
- IP address of the requesting computer
- Recognition data of the browser and operating system used (if transmitted by the requesting web browser)
- Requested URL
The data in these log files is processed as follows:
- The log entries are analysed in order to detect disruptions to the service or attacks on the service and to be able to react accordingly.
- In individual cases, i.e. reported faults, errors and security incidents, they are analysed manually.
- Entries that are older than seven days are deleted.
The software used utilises cookies for session management. If you click on the option that this is a "private computer", the last HAW ID you entered will also be saved in a cookie. Beyond this, no type of user tracking is used, in particular no evaluation for reach analyses or similar.
Transfer of personal data
The transfer of personal data to state institutions and authorities only takes place within the framework of mandatory national legislation or if the transfer is necessary for legal or criminal prosecution in the event of attacks on our IT infrastructure. Data will not be passed on to third parties for other purposes or published.
Your rights
You have a right to information about your personal data stored by us. You also have the right to have incorrect data corrected, blocked or deleted. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us in writing.
Validity and up-to-dateness
By using the OWA service, you consent to the use of your data as described above. This data protection declaration is immediately valid and replaces all previous declarations.
Due to the further development of the OWA service, it may become necessary to revise this privacy policy. We reserve the right to change the data protection declaration at any time with effect for the future and recommend that you read the current data protection declaration again from time to time.
