Lightweight construction

The lightweight construction research department is a platform for applied R&D projects and knowledge transfer in the fields of lightweight construction materials, design and manufacturing technologies and offers extensive expertise in the areas of microscopic examinations, thermal analyses, material modelling, determination of material characteristics, static and dynamic component and structural analyses, synthesis of lightweight structures and FEM simulation. In the field of additive manufacturing, there is an extensively equipped laboratory for polymer applications and a laser deposition welding system.
