Programme content
The degree programme combines a business management education with a special focus on tax topics in the first four semesters. The practical part of the fifth semester is spent in a tax and/or auditing firm or in the finance and accounting department of a company, in the public sector or a non-profit organisation or at an IT company that provides or develops and creates services or products for tax consulting firms. The final year of study serves to deepen and further specialise in the field of taxation. Excursions to the Federal Fiscal Court, the German Tax Consultants' Conference and the Tax Consultants' Congress give students an insight into the work of the profession and bring them into contact with renowned experts from academia, case law, practice and teaching. Guest lectures and teaching assignments by recognised experts ensure practical relevance.
Modules
In the first four semesters, all modules that are characteristic of a business administration degree programme are taught. The first two semesters cover these theoretical and introductory subjects. In the second year of study, in addition to other core areas of business administration, specific tax skills are also taught, such as specialisation in external accounting/accounting (tax) law, procedural law/valuation law and VAT law. In the sixth and seventh semesters, students choose a competence module and take the compulsory competence module Income Tax Law.
