Automotive informatics
Bachelor
The "Automotive Informatics" Bachelor's degree programme is the logical response to the current trend in the automotive industry. In contrast to a Master's programme, the necessary fundamentals of electrical and mechanical engineering are taught right from the start. Furthermore, the programme deliberately teaches a systems approach. Vehicle software is practically always embedded in a technical process. Efficient software development therefore begins at the functional level and not at the programming level of a control unit. At the end of their studies, students will therefore be able to develop complex systems in an interdisciplinary team and not just encapsulated software modules. Nevertheless, this degree programme is a genuine computer science course that teaches all the important skills of core computer science.

Application process
When applying for a Bachelor's degree programme, it is important to note whether it is an admission-free or admission-restricted programme.
For degree programmes with restricted admissions, prior registration on hochschulstart.de is required before further information is entered in the applicant portal, the degree programme is selected, the required documents are uploaded and the application is completed.
The majority of our Bachelor's degree programmes are admission-free. Registration at hochschulstart.de is not necessary for these degree programmes. It is sufficient to go through the individual steps in our applicant portal.
Further information on applying for a Bachelor's degreeAdmission requirements
The basic admission requirement for admission to a Bachelor's degree programme is a higher education entrance qualification valid in Bavaria; in most cases the Abitur or Fachabitur.
If a degree programme has restricted admission, you must also achieve the required cut-off grade (=NC) in order to be offered a place. This grade is not determined in advance, but only in the course of the admission procedure.
In the case of admission-free degree programmes, every application received in due form and time will receive an offer of admission to the degree programme applied for.
Checklist and overview of NC degree programmesApplication deadline
All Bachelor's degree programmes generally start in the winter semester, i.e. on 1 October. The application period begins at the end of April and ends on 15 July. If no Abitur or Fachabitur certificate is available by 15 July, this can be submitted by 27 July.
In the summer semester, you can generally only enter higher semesters in a Bachelor's degree programme (start of summer semester = 15 March). This assumes that you have already studied in a similar subject area. The application deadline for the summer semester runs from 15 November to 15 January.
In some degree programmes, the application deadlines can be extended individually. The exact dates can be found on the homepage of the applicant portal.
