Digital administration management

With the new Bachelor's degree course in Digital Administration Management, we want to build a bridge between IT and organisation. We enable students to act as experts and thus mediators between these two worlds. We teach a solid foundation in computer science, administration and economics - combined with practical modules on disruptive technologies, mobile technologies, open data and process mining.

    Programme content

    In addition to the basic subjects of computer science and administrative management, the main topics include

    • Administrative processes and organisation
    • New Public Management
    • Disruptive technologies
    • Lean administration
    • Open government and open data
    • and exciting specialisation subjects such as Artificial Intelligence in Administration, Data Protection and IT Security and Legal Informatics.

    Study programme

    The programme comprises six theoretical and one practical semester. The first part of the programme lasts two semesters and includes an introduction to digital administration management and the necessary foundations in computer science, administrative sciences and management. The second part of the programme delves deeper into various areas of digital administration management, includes basic core subjects in computer science and offers numerous elective options with regard to future-relevant areas of application. In the 3rd and 4th semesters, students deepen the knowledge they have acquired so far through further subject-related modules. The content focuses on IT security, mobile technologies, lean administration, administrative law and the management of change projects and processes. The fifth semester is a practical semester in the business world or a public institution. In the 6th and 7th semesters, students choose subject-related compulsory elective modules. The various compulsory elective modules on the programme include applications of artificial intelligence in administration, special topics in IT security and data protection as well as legal informatics and open government. Students also familiarise themselves with current standard IT applications in administration in computer labs with state-of-the-art equipment.

    Internship

    The fifth semester of study is a practical semester carried out in industry or a public institution and comprises 80 working days plus accompanying courses at the university.
