Additive Manufacturing

The Laboratory for Additive Manufacturing was founded in 2013 and has been consistently established and expanded since then, with great support from the university management.

There are now four different FFF-based 3D printers with different build space sizes and printable materials, as well as a multi-jet printer, a powder printer based on SLS (selective laser sintering) and an LFS printer (stereolithography system). The laboratory's facilities make it possible to visualise the entire reverse engineering process, from scanning and data processing to 3D printing. These are used across all faculties by students from the entire university for projects, Bachelor's and Master's theses as well as for research projects with the aim. The aim is for students to learn and experience the possibilities and limitations of additive manufacturing in practical application in order to understand the entire process of Design of Additive Manufacturing (3D print-compatible design, topology optimisation, etc.).
