The commercial vehicle technology laboratory enables students to familiarise themselves with different concepts of modern commercial vehicles and mobile machinery. In addition to practical measurements on body, chassis, driving dynamics (including simulations with IPG TruckMaker) and operating behaviour using standardised consumption tests in real driving conditions (e.g. SORT), typical technical monitoring work (HU, SP incl. brake testing on the test bench) can be carried out. In addition, PEMS measurements to evaluate the emission behaviour of modern commercial vehicle drive technologies in their respective original driving operation are carried out in practical courses. In view of the trend towards electromobility, projects on differentiated energy flow measurements in electric buses are also offered.

Equipment

  • State-of-the-art mobile emissions measurement technology PEMS (for NO, NO2, CO, CO2, THC; PM, PN) with commercial vehicle flow meter, GPS and weather station etc.
  • Roller brake test stand incl. centre of gravity test stand (load distribution)
  • Measuring devices for energy consumption in high-voltage technology
  • Working pit with 2 portal pit jacks
  • 6 wheel grippers (incl. control panel with remote control); can be used for all types of commercial vehicles and mobile machinery
