Sensors and test engineering

Devices for measuring physical-technical quantities from mechanics, acoustics, electricity, magnetism, optics and atomic physics as well as the basics of sensor and measurement technology in mechanical engineering

Head:Prof. Dr rer. nat. Barbara Höling
Room:H0 02 / H0 04
Zwei Personen beim Messen des Massenträgheitsmoments einer Kugel

8 workstations for the following tests

  • Precision length measurement
  • Roughness measurement
  • Calorimetry
  • Damped and forced vibrations
  • Measurement of air resistance
  • Deformation measurement with strain gauges
  • Speed of sound in fluids and solids
  • Sliding friction

Up to 16 students can complete the Applied Physics practical course at the same time. Special measurement tasks for final theses are also possible.
