Programme content
The Master's programme deepens the understanding of drive technology (drives with combustion engines and new technologies), chassis technology and assistance systems, including operating interfaces. The significant role of simulation is emphasised through special modules in computer-aided engineering (CAE) and practical examples. In addition, project management and supplier management skills are taught to qualify graduates for specialist or management positions, particularly in the research and development of vehicles and machinery.
Study programme
The Master's degree programme in Automotive and Commercial Vehicle Engineering includes an in-depth examination of various specialist areas. This includes higher mathematics for computer-aided engineering (CAE) applications, analysing energy in the vehicle, development methods in the early phase, with a focus on functional design, acoustics and vibration technology in vehicle construction, product development for commercial vehicles and passenger cars, new drive systems, assistance systems and human-machine interfaces (HMI), control technology for drive and chassis, challenges for future mobility concepts as well as practical modules such as supervised project work, multi-body simulation, methods of the finite element method (FEM) in vehicle development and application development. The programme concludes with a Master's thesis.
