Lightweight construction and simulation
Master

Ever shorter product cycles and therefore ever shorter development cycles, together with the constantly increasing complexity of systems, increasingly require the use of simulation. In addition, lightweight construction is becoming increasingly important, particularly with regard to energy efficiency.

    Programme content

The Master's degree programme addresses the challenges posed by shortened product and development cycles, as well as increasing system complexity through the increased use of simulations. The focus is on lightweight construction and offers comprehensive further training in product and process development as well as computer-aided engineering (CAE), with the aim of obtaining the academic degree of Master of Engineering. Graduates will be able to work as specialists or managers in the fields of calculation, design and development or to pursue a doctorate by designing innovative products and technologies using modern CAE methods and tools.

    Study programme

The Master's degree programme in Lightweight Construction and Simulation begins with the acquisition of mathematical fundamentals and then delves deeper into product development and project management. The programme focuses on structural lightweight construction, a simulation practical course, material and system lightweight construction, numerical calculation methods, dynamic systems, structural mechanics and a final project. The programme concludes with the writing of a Master's thesis.
