Counselling Student life

Students are not normally entitled to social benefits. For them, BAföG is the type of state support. However, if you are not entitled to BAföG "on the merits", for example

  • because you have exceeded the age limit
  • because you are currently taking a semester off
  • because you are studying part-time
  • because you have exceeded the maximum funding period
  • because you were unable to provide the required proof of performance
  • because you have made a late change of subject etc.

you may be entitled to other social benefits.

In these cases, it is worth applying for housing benefit.
