General Studies

Throughout the course, students:

• Learn about the importance of energy production and energy use in Germany and worldwide
• Take into account technological, scientific and psychological aspects in the analysis of energy policies
• Analyse the political, economic and societal implication of energy policies, both in Germany and worldwide
• Learn about the conflicts in social and science ethics resulting from energy and environmental policies
• Understand your personal responsibility in forming a political opinion and critically analyse your own life style regarding energy consumption
• Apply principles of scientific work

Throughout the course, students:

• Successfully participate in employment search activities (design of covering letters, curriculum vitaes, writing contact e-mails, the oral skills of conducting interviews and salary negotiations)
• Learn to express oneself clearly, fluently and in a well-structured manner in oral and written forms

After successful completion of this course, students are able to:

• Recognize the importance of mathematics in music
• Analyse sound and music from a mathematical perspective
• Discuss different musical tone systems from a mathematical perspective
• Programme algorithmic music
• Use technology to calculate solutions
• Use online tools and personal computing devices to develop digital literacy skills

• Are able to communicate competently in spoken and written forms at an upper-intermediate level (Level B2)
• Get introduced to the subjects renewable energy, smart buildings and electric mobility with a focus on enabling them to subsequently participate in more advanced courses instructed in English

Throughout the course, students:

• Get introduced to International Project Management and its components
  • communication media
  • tools for project management
  • intercultural conflicts and challanges in international management
• Are enabled to supsequently participate in more advanced courses instructed in English
• Are enabled to fuction successfully in projects with an international dimension
• Are provided with the skills in virtual or traditional learning environments in related subjects
