The university family reacted with great sadness to the death of Prof. Dr. Magda Schiegl, who passed away at the end of May. Her work and her always dedicated commitment will be remembered.
Prof. Dr. Magda Schiegl had been a professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Industrial Engineering since 2012, teaching in the departments of physics and mathematics. "Already as dean, I had the privilege to experience and appreciate her extraordinary dedication," recalls a deeply saddened university president Prof. Fritz Pörnbacher.
University service organized to bid farewell
On behalf of the university community, Dean Prof. Petra Tippmann-Krayer (Faculty ETWI) has organized a farewell service. This will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. in the Church of St. Peter and Paul, Niedermayerstraße 25 in Landshut. In this context, faculty, students and staff of Landshut University are equally invited to say goodbye to Magda Schiegl together.
In advance, the ETWI faculty has laid out a book of condolence for Magda Schiegl. The impressions and personal words expressed in it were given to the university community and will be presented at the funeral service. "We have hoped every semester that Magda would finally come back and explain mathematics to our students as vividly and insightfully as she typically did," shared the grieving Dean Prof. Tippmann-Krayer.
We will always remember Magda Schiegl with honor and gratefully keep her work in our thoughts.
