Circle of friends
The Freundeskreis der Hochschule Landshut e.V. is committed to supporting Landshut University of Applied Sciences both ideally and materially.
The association unites the civil society supporters of Landshut University of Applied Sciences. They are committed to the further development of the university and support practice-orientated, academic teaching as well as application-related development projects. The association also ensures the university's connection with the regional economy, culture and politics, as well as the people of Landshut and Lower Bavaria.
The material support relates in particular to areas for which there is little or no funding available in the university budget. This includes events that promote the anchoring of Landshut University of Applied Sciences in civil society: For example, the "Open Day" or the "Long Night of Culture" organised by the university community. The Circle of Friends also supports the promotion of students, for example through the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship, or various marketing activities.
The association's financial resources are based on membership fees, donations and contributions from companies, institutions, organisations or private individuals. The Executive Board decides on the allocation of funds. This is determined and monitored by the general meeting. Ludwig Zellner, city councillor of Landshut, is the current chairman of the association. Private individuals, natural and legal persons as well as associations can become members of the Friends of Landshut University of Applied Sciences.
