The study programme offers training in the three pillars of Business, Optimization/IT and Process Management. In addition to traditional business management topics, the programme focuses in particular on topics such as Algorithms, Mobile & Web Applications, Data Science & Machine Learning, Operations Research and Processes & Simulation and provides insights into new technologies. The programme's content is aimed at preparing students for the increasingly digitalised economy, in which there is a clear focus on process optimization.

    Programme content

    In addition to training in traditional business subjects, the Bachelor's degree course in Digitization, Process Optimization & Management is characterised by a strong IT strand with a focus on the optimization of business processes. It covers topics such as data and Algorithms, Mobile & Web Applications, Data Science & Machine Learning, Operations Research and Processes & Simulation. The aim is to prepare students for careers in an increasingly digitalised economy, in which the use of IT for process design and optimisation provides a clear competitive advantage.

    Modules

    After the first introductory year of study, the second year of study serves to deepen and expand through advanced and new modules - e.g. Controlling, Innovation and Project Management, Business Model and Strategy Development, Human Resource Management, Organisation, Production, Logistics & Services, Data Science & Machine Learning and Operations Research. After the practical semester, students choose a competence module (e.g., Controlling, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Organisation/Human Resources, Operations & Supply Chain Management) in the sixth and seventh semesters and specialise further in Business Process Management, Processes & Simulation and Business Informatics.     General studies

    Landshut University of Applied Sciences sees itself as a centre of excellence for interdisciplinary and lifelong learning. Teaching should primarily enable students to acquire subject-specific skills, but also social, reflective, procedural, entrepreneurial, systemic, digital, creative, intercultural and foreign language skills. Students on Bachelor's degree programmes are required to take three modules from the Studium Generale.

    Languages

    The university offers all students a comprehensive range of languages via the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies. Four courses in Business English with a Business Focus at UNIcert® II level or higher are compulsory for the Bachelor's degree course in Digitalisation, Process Optimisation & Management, ideally spread over the first two semesters. Further language courses can be included as general studies.
