The development process in the areas of vehicle construction (cars, buses and commercial vehicles) and work machinery (construction, agricultural and forestry machinery) is characterised by ever shorter development cycles and constantly increasing cost and quality requirements. The main technical challenges are the development of new functions and concepts, taking into account their sustainability.

The study programme / profile
In order to meet challenges such as minimising resource and energy consumption as well as emissions to increase the sustainability of mobility concepts when starting a career, in-depth knowledge of the technical interrelationships in the following areas is required - in addition to comprehensive basic knowledge of the technical and physical interrelationships as taught as part of the Bachelor's degree course in Automotive Engineering or comparable technical courses: Drive technology (new drive technologies and drives with combustion engines), chassis technology and assistance systems, including the user interface. Simulation methods, as taught in the degree programme, play a major role in a wide variety of applications.
Contents and course of study
The Master's degree programme is offered as a full-time course and consists of three semesters: In the first semester, the basics from the first degree programme are deepened, advanced technical content is taught and initial methods in the field of supplier management are covered. In the second semester, new technical content and project management methods are taught to a greater extent on the basis of industry-related semester/project work. The Master's thesis is completed in the third semester. A total of 90 credit points in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) are awarded for successful completion of the programme.
Prospects after graduation
The knowledge, skills and competences acquired in the technical field and in the area of project management, including supplier management, enable you to work as a technical specialist or as a manager, especially in the field of research and development of vehicles and work machines.
