Overview

Electrospinning is used in many different areas of research. In this process, fibres with a thickness in the nanometre range are produced directly from a polymer solution using a strong electric field.

The electrospinning laboratory enables research and development of the electrospinning process under optimal conditions. Spinning concepts for different application speeds can be tested, recipes and machine settings can be changed and the result optimised for the respective application.

Equipment:

  • Electrospinning system with needle emitter (Inovenso Nanospinner)
  • Electrospinning system with wire emitter (Elmarco Nanospider NS Lab)
  • Electrospinning prototype system with rotating emitter (in-house construction together with AKE technologies)
  • Peripheral devices for controlling the environmental parameters (humidity, temperature)
