An answer to every question!
Start of studies before the winter semester 2022/2023:
All examinations of the 1st and 2nd semesters must be passed.
In particular, it is not possible for a practical activity to be subsequently recognised as an internship if the above-mentioned requirements were not yet met at the beginning of the activity.
Start of studies from winter semester 2022/2023:
Only those who have passed the basic and orientation examination and have earned a total of 70 ECTS credits are eligible for admission; the Studium Generale modules are excluded.
Re-registration is required and the student union fee must be paid.
You will receive a certificate from the Student Service Centre stating that the internship is a compulsory internship.
Students can take their examinations or repeat examinations during the practical semester.
The practical semester comprises a practical period of 80 working days in the company. Only the period of the compulsory internship is exempt from the Minimum Wage Act.
In addition, students must attend 6 SWS of specialisation modules at Landshut University of Applied Sciences to supplement their practical experience. These modules should be attended on Fridays during the practical semester to accompany the work placement. These Fridays are not counted towards the company working days.
During the contract period, the student is generally not entitled to holiday leave. If the company gives you the opportunity to reduce overtime on a daily basis, this does not violate the regulations of Landshut University of Applied Sciences.
Public holidays must be taken into account by adding them to the practical time as working days.
If you are sick for a maximum of 5 working days during the practical semester, you do not need to make up for these days. If you are sick for more than 5 days, you must make up the total number of days missed.
In the download area of the Faculty of Computer Science or on the homepage of Landshut University of Applied Sciences you will find a training contract for internships and practical semesters.
However, companies are free to use their own contracts.
The internship contract must be submitted in triplicate (1 original + 2 copies) to the Student Service Centre. The contract will be checked there and then forwarded for signature. The signed contract can then be collected from the Student Service Centre. The actual working days should be indicated.
It would be desirable to be able to submit the contract at the time of re-registration for the semester in question. As soon as the contract has been completed, it must be submitted to the Student Service Centre.
Students must submit a copy of their company's internship certificate to the Student Service Centre no later than 4 weeks after the end of the internship.
This must show
- the exact length (working days),
- the nature of the work.
There is no form for the certificate from Landshut University of Applied Sciences.
There are no grades for the internship itself, but there are for the internship seminar and for the specialisation modules that complement the internship.
At Landshut University of Applied Sciences, the entry "with success" or "without success" is made after all requirements have been met (passing the practical specialisation modules, presentation, report, certificate).
Students submit the report to the lecturer of the internship seminar towards the end of the internship semester.
The written activity report comprises approx. 15 pages.
No, it does not have to be signed by the company where you are doing your internship. However, students must ensure that they do not write anything confidential in the report. It may therefore make sense to show the report to the supervisor at the company or at least clarify the whole thing with them.
This should be avoided if possible.
Please note that the Bachelor's thesis may only be registered after the internship semester has been fully completed.
Yes, this is possible.
For more information, please contact the International Office.
Students abroad are exempted from the "Practical specialisation modules" on application. However, the report must be written and the presentation given.
In the Framework Examination Regulations (RaPO) and in the Study and Examination Regulations (SPO) of the respective degree programmes.
