    The study programme / profile

The Master's degree programme in Market-oriented Corporate Management is a consecutive Master's degree programme with an application-oriented profile. It has the clear aim of imparting up-to-date knowledge, motivating students to think critically and to apply this knowledge to familiar and new problems of practical relevance. Practical projects are part of the application-oriented learning here. The degree programme conveys a clear understanding of the interplay between the levels of concept or strategy, process and information technology in the customer-oriented functions of marketing, sales and service. Students are qualified to take on management tasks in the short to medium term.

    Contents and course of study

The idea of market-oriented corporate management as a holistic understanding of management, which is based on customers and their needs, but of course does not disregard the cost aspects and profit-making intentions of a company, is the basic idea of this degree programme.

The Master's programme consists of two theoretical semesters and one semester for writing the Master's thesis.

    Dual study programme

The dual study programme is a practice-oriented form of study that combines theoretical course content at universities with professional practice in a company. During their dual study programme, students complete both lectures at the university and practical assignments at the company, allowing them to acquire both academic knowledge and practical experience at the same time.

    Prospects after graduation

The central aim of the degree programme is to qualify students to take on management tasks in the customer-oriented functions of marketing, sales and service in the short to medium term. Knowledge, practical experience and methodological skills form the foundation of this programme. At the same time, emphasis is placed on logical thinking and scientific work in order to promote students' analytical skills. Current topics such as digitalisation, AI and leadership round off the profile of graduates, who are in high demand in practice.

Students should also have knowledge of sales, marketing, controlling/finance, statistics, organisation/personnel management and business informatics or be expected to fill any gaps in their knowledge independently. Frequently asked questions and answers about the degree programme

The Master's degree programme always starts in the winter semester. The application period usually ends on 15 July, but an extension of the application period is also possible.

Further information on the application and admission procedure can be found here.

You will find a list of all documents in the application portal. Here you will also find information on the required form of the relevant documents to be submitted. All documents must first be uploaded online. If you are successfully admitted to the Master's degree programme, you must submit selected documents in the original or certified.

For the recognition of non-business degree programmes, but with at least 45 ECTS credits in business subjects (usually industrial engineering, business informatics or similar) or of achievements in a degree programme that has so far only been completed with 180 ECTS, please submit the corresponding completed forms .

Students with foreign degrees should contact Ms Judith Maier, e-mail: zeugnisanerkennung@haw-landshut.de

The Bachelor's certificate can be submitted later if proof is provided within the usual application deadline that the applicant will complete their first degree programme with 210 ECTS credits by the end of the current semester. This is usually done by uploading a current transcript of records and proof of the final ECTS total acquired upon completion of the degree programme (e.g. excerpt from the study and examination regulations). The degree certificate or a certificate of successful completion of the first degree programme must be submitted by the time of enrolment (30 September) at the latest.

Students who do not have all documents complete by the end of the application period (15 July) can still apply. However, the complete transcript of records must be submitted as soon as possible. From this point onwards, you can be considered in the admissions process. Experience has shown that the admissions process takes several weeks.

Yes, it is also possible for graduates of degree programmes with fewer than 210 ECTS but at least 180 ECTS to apply for the Master's degree programme in Market-Oriented Management. In the case of a continuous internship of at least 6 months, which has not yet been recognised in the first degree programme, 30 ECTS points can be compensated. Otherwise, a substitute programme is also possible in order to acquire the missing ECTS points. The credits from the substitute programme must be complementary to subjects from the Bachelor's degree programme (i.e. you cannot take the same subject twice!). Students determine the substitute programme individually with the examination board. Courses at Landshut University of Applied Sciences from the undergraduate area can be attended or achievements from other universities can be recognised.

No information can be given about the NC (Numerus Clausus) for the Master's degree programme applied for during the application period, as these are not yet fixed at that time and fluctuate from year to year. Your admission will only be checked upon submission of your application documents. It is not possible to make a binding statement without submitting all application documents.

The degree programme is a full-time course. In recent years, the curriculum has generally been designed so that at least one day a week was lecture-free. However, no guarantee can be given here. When planning, you should bear in mind that the Master's programme has a high workload due to preparation and follow-up work.

There is no separate part-time study programme for the Master's degree, but the standard period of study of 3 semesters can of course be extended to a maximum of 7 semesters. However, prospective students should discuss this with the programme director.

    Frequently asked questions

It is important to distinguish whether you are applying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme. There is also a difference as to whether the Bachelor's degree programme is admission-free or admission-restricted (with NC). Further information on the application and admission procedure can be found here.

The university determines the number of places to be allocated for individual degree programmes. From the applications received for places on degree programmes with restricted admission, the best students from various groups (Abitur, Fachabitur, master's degree, second degree, etc.) are admitted according to a ranking list until the number of places to be allocated is reached. The NC (Nurmerus Clausus, average grade for admission) is calculated each year from the average grade of the last university place awarded. Experience shows that the NC fluctuates considerably from year to year when there are only a few study places to be allocated and cannot be predicted in advance of admission. It is therefore not the grade point average required for admission that is specified in advance, but the number of study places to be allocated.

Depending on whether you have already studied something similar or the same degree programme elsewhere, you either apply for a higher semester or start a new degree programme in the first semester. If you apply for a higher semester, the creditable examination results in particular determine whether you can be admitted. More information here.

If you can prove that you have already acquired comparable skills - either through professional experience or as part of a previous degree programme - you can apply to have these recognised. The application must be submitted to the Student Service Centre and will then be reviewed by the relevant examination board. You will be informed of the decision after approx. 2-3 weeks. The application can be found here.

Once you have registered in the applicant portal and uploaded your documents, you will be kept up to date on the progress of your application. If something is missing or incorrect, which would lead to exclusion from the award procedure, you will also be notified there. The letter of admission is also available for download there. Click here to go to the applicant portal.

As part of the application process, if you accept the study place offer, you must contact your health insurance company and inform them that you intend to start studying at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. The health insurance company will then confirm directly to us via a digital message that health insurance cover is in place. If you have private health insurance, you must consult a statutory health insurance company and request confirmation of exemption. This will also be reported to us digitally. Information on health insurance during your studies can be found here.

The semester ticket is also printed on the student ID card. The student ID card must be revalidated for the following semester after re-registration. You can find out more here.
