Application examples - Better investment decisions through simulation methods
In practice, information on price volatility is often not used for investment decisions and risks (e.g. for liquidity) are not quantified. However, companies can use relatively simple models to improve the quality of their decisions and operate consciously risk-oriented investment controlling.
The advantages and possibilities of Monte Carlo simulation for investment decisions are illustrated using the example of a cheese dairy, where fluctuating milk prices in particular represent a significant risk factor.
